Kinnathappam

Hi Friends,
Welcome to Food Festival.

Today i am sharing the recipe of very popular Kinnathappam recipe.
Kinnathappam is a very popular healthy snack widely used in Kerala.Here i am introducing steamed rice jaggery cake which is very healthy and delicious.  



Recipe of Kinnathappam.

Ingredients:

Raw Rice - 1 cup
Coconut milk - 1.5 cup
Jaggery - 2 nos
Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
Salt - pinch

Method:

Soak the raw rice in water for at least 3 hours.




Grind the soaked and drained rice, jaggery and coconut milk into a fine smooth paste.








Now grease a steel plate and pour 2  or 3 big spoon batter.


Add few cumin seed on top of the batter.





Now batter is ready for steaming.

Take a cooking pot or idli pot and filled with some water, place a ring inside the pot.



When the water starts boiling, carefully place the plate in the idli pot or steaming pot and close the lid.



Cook for at least 15 minutes in a medium heat.




Now  yummy  kinnathappam is ready to serve.



You can cut into small pieces.
